I love son's because....

1. You have to pay with a dollar bill to play PhotoHunt which means everyone is forced to stick around for at least 4 consecutive games.

2. John Jack is always there.

3. Pitchers are 5.50.

4. You can run into people dressed up in Dukes of Hazard wear and it seems completely normal (Charlsie Paine).

5. They're always playing Bob Marley on the Juke Box.

6. It's bumping on Sundays.

7. It has all the appeal of socializing downtown with the added bonus of dressing comfortably.

8. Eye candy for everyone.

9. There is a list of useless facts posted on the back of the girls bathroom door. (collecting of coasters is called pestemology).

10. Once you get good and buzzed you can order a nice piece of greasy pizza.

Thetas aren't sugar-coaters...

It's almost the beginning of the school year, which means it's ...RUSH TIME. Oh yay. Work week then rush for a week. During work week, the days are long, boring and seriously uncomfortable. For some reason, whoever is in charge decided to take the couches out of the chapter room. Probably because of people like me who would get too comfortable, therefore hindering themselves from being as peppy as possible. So we sit on the floor...For hours. The only good thing about work week is that it is appropriately named. We aren't BSers. No, we're honest theta ladies and we don't call it anything other than what it is--Work. ADPi calls it Spirit Week. Right.

The "work" officially started on Sunday. I stayed until about noon--half of the time I was supposed to. On Monday I came in at noon. I actually had an excuse though--Emily and I had to go to the police station to deal with the "public masturbater" (who I will refer to as PM from this point on). Apparently it wasn't just us who got a show, but many many others since the fall. The PM is a serious repeat-offender. Fag. So anyway, I was too busy upholding my responsibilities as a citizen of this country to sit in a dark room and watch, cheer and clap as slides of strangers (very, very good-looking strangers) appear on a big screen. Whatdoyado? Today I vowed to stay the entire time--8-6. I made it to 3.

I don't understand why they care if seniors come anyway. sure there are the Katie Ramseys who actually like work week and enjoy yelling as loud as possible the names of potential new members as their pictures flashes on the projector. I am not a loser like Katie is though. I enjoy things like: being in bed at 8 a.m., sitting in a chair, and lights. Things that have been robbed from me the past few days. So, since I despise work week, I am a complete waste of space during this time. I talk all the time , usually in a quiet voice--I'm at least that courteous. But, too often my audience erupts with laughter and attention is once again drawn to me--the sorry theta. Today during slides I discovered the hula hoops in the corner. You know that was bad news. At least it kept me entertained for a good 7 minutes. Then I decided I would "help" Samantha out upstairs since she's the computer girl. Again, that didn't last long as I had followers which caused people to notice the seniors were gone. We were asked nicely to return to the chapter room to finish slides. Ugh. I decided I'll go, but i'm not standing up and cheering (as if I would have done this if the circumstances were different). Mae and I sat on the floor while everyone stood up and cheered. It was fine until Julia's sister (who is so cute and going through rush) came up on the slide...seriously the crowd went wild. Katie notices from across the room (yeah she was sitting with us, but left because we were "bringing her down") that mae and I appear lifeless so she takes the time to make this announcement:

"EVERYONE STOP REAL QUICK!" (the radio is off and the room is silent) "I want you all to look at Megan Mattingly and Mae Anderson--two seniors sitting on the floor in the back of the room. This is an example of two losers. They are BAD examples. "

Mae was embarrassed, I was amused. Everyone was either laughing or appalled. I was just excited to hear something other than hands clapping. I was also excited for Katie that she did something funny. Ha. Ineffective, but still funny.

I have to go to bed now. Roll Call is at 8:30. Since it's 1 a.m. now that means, at most, I can get 7 hours of sleep. That is 3 less than I require. I hate work week.
